Topic: what does it cost to have have a 6al rebuilt?

i have a 6al and msd distributors that are not working corectly id like to send them back to msd to have them checked out. what am i looking to spend on each item?
im not the original purchaser so im not able to take advatage of a warentey

It was actually not that bad for me - depends what's wrong with it. I got my box wet and had to send it in. They replaced a diode, resistor shorted updated it to 2009 standards (box was og purchased in 99). All together with shipping ran me $45

You are better off throwing the MSD Distributor in the garbage.... it will same you money in the end.
Get an RMA number from MSD for the box, and be sure you have it wired correctly. Check your engine grounds too.
There is a reason Nascar guys run two MSD boxes, with a switch!

Exactly, throw it away and get a Crane box. When I worked at Summit a ton of MSD boxes would come back. I've had both a 6AL and a Digital 6 take a crap me.

i had it tested at vh on thier tester...

I had mine tested at vic hubbard too. turned out it was good, it was my main spark wire that was bad and grounding out.
