....AND the balance job. I've seen stock blocks live at 550-575 levels for a long time if the balance job is spot on.

If it was ready I would be there for sure. I'm missing all this cold weather ..I'm still assembling it after tearing it down for paint. I'm finishing up on my black interior conversion and rear seat delete. I want to make it to the Fabulous Fords show at Knotts....I want to see what yours can really do with that YSI.

You can have a kazillion hp on the stock block, but if your not taking it out of the garage it will definitely last a very long time
I've seen stock blocks with 550rwhp last in the 100+ K mile range, but they were spot on with the tune, well maintained, good balancer (harmonics are bad for motors) and were not abused on a constant basis.

Ford Rates them at 450FWHP.
Depends on the setup. Pump-gas motors won't last as long. Any sort of detonation will bounce the caps on the block.
My original Byron tuned TT 331 twisted the block with 430/507RW. Of course, this was with 7psi on the dyno & she made 11psi at the strip with the same tune.... Inertia Drum's FTL (with a turbo car). I'm sure if I'd have run straight 100 she'd be running still.
RPM has a LOT to do with it as well.
The wife's all-motor setup is pushing the limits of the stock block. Upon freshen up I noticed material transfer from the caps to the block. (walking the caps at high RPM) Hers is making 442RWHP at 6400RPM & she shifts it at 6800.
Dart is in the process of releasing an SHP SBF block in the $1500 range with 4-bolt mains. It'll handle well over 1000hp.
