I lost my black baby at Laguna Seca Dec. 23rd and wanted to post some pics. I had massive break failure and only suffered whip lash for a few days so I feel very lucky. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to post pics here as I'm sure I'll be sellling some parts as well. Got it all on incar cam as well. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for the sympathy everyone...I need it The brake failure was all my fault because I was giving rides that day and sat in the pit lane to long when I came in hot. Totally heat soaked the brakes (which is Motul 600 fluid) when I was helping someones nephew strap in and got to preoccupied with there safety to forget about the obvious...my freakin brakes. I was doing about 90 down hill when the only thing I could say was "oh shit". Any one who has been to Laguna Seca knows how much brake you need here and it's not the place to lose them. It could've been a lot worse because if I hadn't come into the pits I would've been at speed and lost them at about 125 mph which I would be in much worse condition. Once I went through the run-off area (gravel traps) I hit the wall at about 40 mph which I've watched over and over on the in-car. One thing I am getting for safety is the Hans Device no matter how much they cost for me and any passenger. I did also get some strap bruising from the 5 points on my shoulders which worked phenominally...the only thing that moved was my head and neck. Yep, the first thing on my list is another mustang and of course money. I can't say enough about Griggs suspensions and the reliability of this car since I bought it bone stock in June of 99. It's never broken at the track and has done thing things at race tracks that just wow any passenger or GM rival.

Best recorded lap at Laguna Seca 143:53. I'm very proud of that one. Stock motor, the usual bolt on's, a computer tune and of course exhaust work. ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif)

I'm going to call the insurance co. tomorrow but it doesn't look good for me. I've talked to many people about this which is why I haven't called yet and thanks for the advise. As far as the in-car goes, I'm going to try and put it up for you all so you can learn from my mistake. I'm gonna try to figure out how to post up video now and thanks again for all the advise people

Major ouch! Glad to hear that you and your passnger are ok though!
I have had a Griggs tubular k member/a arms on my car for years and love it. My car is setup for drag/street use but when I got the Griggs setup I bought it because it is super light weight and if guys like you are beating the hell out of it, hanging turns at high speed, it will surely hold up to what I'm using it for.
Good luck on the insurance and finding a new car.

Damn...sad to see the pictures You planning to rebuild the car or start over? Don't mean to add salt to the wound, but are you going to be selling your Griggs parts?

Well that sucks. I've spun twice, but haven't hit anything yet, knock on wood. Once coming out of turn 6 at Infineon on the first lap with about 30 cars right on my ass and another time at Thill on the back straight trying to out brake an M3. Glad to see you had the right safety equipment and walked away.

I will be parting out alot of parts and will keep you all posted on this. Beleive it or not my k member (so far) looks to be intact but if you look at the pics closely, the other side of the car is totaly bent. My goal is to be at Button Willow Raceway in a new car by November 09 with a bunch of my friends and some of you road race guys on here. Passing a Z06 on a road course puts a big on your face every time

Consider getting just another body/frame and move the parts over.

I actually had a friend flip his car at the track and his insurance covered it. Because its not classified under racing but under some driving school and his insurance totalled his car and paid for it.

Yeah thanks for the insurance info, I'm gonna give it a shot and see if they cover this somehow. This was just a fun day at the track with an open track group so it might work. I ripped out the air bags and most of the interior and all the rear so it might look kind of funny to them. I just hope I get a cool adjuster
