Heads are a great mod, but u will need more than just the heads. Gears, & pulleys, are a good start...
If u plan on getting an upper/lower manifold, there are much better PROVEN intakes on the market than the BBK... Trickflow, Edelbrock, & the Cobra are some good choices.... [ January 06, 2009, 02:17 AM: Message edited by: EPIK ]

You should do the gears first, you'll notice a big difference even with a stock motor. No use in doing the intake first if you plan on doing heads and cam later on,youre gonna have to pull it back off to do all that.If anything you can put heads and upgrade the intake later,it would be best to save up and do it all at once.Hopefully your shortblock is still healthy. When you do get all that done make sure you get a good tune!

people sell gears on here for cheap..ive seen them go for as low as 50$..and if your no on the throttle all day then 3.73 wont make gas that bad.. and runnin heads with a stock intake is pointless

I had Jaw Gear and Axle do my install on my 3:73 gears. I brought my own parts gears, bearings, seals, disc to rebuild posi and labor costed 400. After you get ur gears in you gotta break them in for the first 100 miles. Drive 20 miles then let it cool off for 15-20minutes then at 500 miles you gotta change out the fluid again.
