St Louis Obispo is not a place very many people think about but it has great eats, a beach, views and a nice relaxing setting.
Another suggestion is Solvang. It's a really nice, quaint Danish town with cobbled streets excellent pastries, small shops for the wife to browse through, and lots of wine and food as well.
Old Sac is pretty cool too. Lots of small shops, food, and drinks. Downtown is nearby too so it gives you more options.
I try to bring the lady to places that are not as talked about. Gives the impression that we put a lot of thought and effort into planning just for them. The womenz always dig that and screw your brains out at the end of the night.

Ha, how about death valley, even though is still hot as peanuts, is beautiful to see. If you can't get a hotel inside the park, then you can go on the town outside and go during the day, is like getting away from everything. Plus, no one can hear you scream!!!!!!
