I'm at Winco SuperMarket on March Lane. This dude was getting his groceries packed by his white wife. (of course white) I noticed dudes got tats all over his arms. I thought it was prison tats or something. When he turned around, "skinhead" was on his forehead. I thought there weren't any around here. Not in a racially diverse town. I avoided eye contact. His checkout clerk is a black girl. The dudes not rude to her at all. Not even a rude look. And she kept her good manners on, too. She didn't even give a 2nd glance. His wife continued to pack food n' stuff.
When he turned his back to leave, he had the tat of Der Swastika on the back of his head. "Ohhh Shitt"! I thought. I hoped this guy would leave the place without getting hassled by anyone. Especially since he brought his baby daughter, too. Now, the "old timers" of Stockton age 60 & up can see this guy. I saw the look in their eyes of disappointment or emmbarrasment. But nobody said a comment to him. Nor did the skin head dude. He didn't notice a thing. This was my 1st time ever seeing & being in the presence of a skinhead. I guess no one can say anything directly to him about his beliefs. With the exception if he slapped a black person or says racial slurs to others. Then it's Der Ass Kikkin Time!

I see that dude from time to time. I think for the most part he is cool. I never see him hassle anyone. I shop at Winco all the time.

Believe it or not I have a dude that I really cool with that has some tats like that. For the most part was part of his childhood. But he is a cool cat. Even had him over for a BBQ. Word on the street is we have quite a few practitioners of that faith on this board.

Read my post again. I am not saying he is right. But he is being a man about his. And for that I give him respect. And if I have to deal with racism I'd rather it be in my face type rather than the cowardly behind doors type. Like at home, there is a clear line in the dirt in some areas. I somewhat agree with you to an extend, i mean to put those tattoes on your forhead is some serious shit.. But once you get those tattoes on your head, you have to live up to it..

Im pretty sure back then he was doing some dumb shit, and to be helped by a black cashier, he didnt say anything, shows that he came out of the past and is moving foward.

When I worked at home depot there was this skin head guy that always came in. He had the swastica, skin head, OI tatts. He was probably one of the most personable people Ive ever met. Never used any derogatory words or racist terms.

Why would you speak out? What he cant buy groceries because of a belief? Or a possibly colored past? And why would you give respect to someone for minding his/her own business? His body is his body. Going up to someone and causing a altercation based on their belief is a easy way to have your hat handed to you. Not to mention landing you in jail for inciting the incident. I am all for considering someone who hates because of a God-given trait a lower life-form. But to manifest that into a reality and then treating someone as you would like to not be treated is hipocracy at its finest. I would do what everyone else in that store did. Leave him alone, pity him, then pray for him.

i have never met a skinhead but i have met several former Nation of Islam cats and they get the same kind of looks from people as it seems this "Skinhead in Stockton" got. a few had tattos saying some f#@ked up shit and that made people stare. i always though it was such a shame that they were always judged so harshly for thier past mistakes.

if this "Skinhead in Stockton" did not do anything then i do not think he diserves praise of beatings or anything. just having a tattoo isnt enough in my opinion to casue action.

i definatly do not think prision is an excuse to get a tattoo you do not want. and i am not saying i understand or even pretend to know what it might be like in prision. but i would never comprise my morals or beliefs i rather die then do that.

i have 2 cousing doing life right now at salinas valley state prison and the other corcoran state prison, and when i go visit them they tell me all kinds of crazy stories...i do no for a fact its all about your race in prison..(sho pride in your race)

so much that 1 of my cousins has enemies in the same yard hes in, but will not do battle againts each other in order to be stronger againts the other races...

in prison you have no choice you stick with your own race if you wanna survive, so maybe it could be this dude went to jail and felt like he had to show his pride in his race....

most white people dont even know what is going on, because they dont bother them selfs with old shit especialy if it didnt happen to them personaly. this is where i start to wonder why black people still talk about shit as if white people owe them something.

FR you are right to a degree, but where you are wrong is that peoples human and civil rights are still denied or dis-respected to this very day based on those old world principals. So I compare it to a wound that has not quite healed, kinda scabbed over. But all it takes is the slightest tampering to tear off the scab and re-open the wound. no slavery is not happening today, but to act like those seeds of hate do not still exist is disrespectful, misguided and irresponsible. But on that same token I do not like people using racism as a crutch either for the above reasons. So what I do is make sure I live my life on a good path and teach my kids what they need to know, and that involves teaching them how to not only recognize racism but see past it. I do this because racism is still a part of society. A big part. If we take responsibility for what falls off our own tongues and what is practiced in our own lives and under our own roofs. It is the natural course in life that this problem will correct itself. And it is working, hell we have a black president.

E-Gads Nate! Slavery is still happening all over the world today. East Africa still slave trades children for labor, they are torn away from their mothers and family. There are millions of people (men, woman & children) still forced into slavery. More than the 11 or 12 million blacks back the 1800's. Personally I'm looking out for me and my family, I'm selfish, I close my eyes to the terrible shit around the world like so many others, but I don't live in the past. I was referring to domestically. I am aware of the strife abroad when it comes to slavery. I do not do much abroad as far as donating, way too much to do here at home. I too look out for family first. But I am also a person that believes you are not judged by what you do for yourself but what you do for others.
