i used to drive both my 5.0's from Chico to the peninsula and vice versa at least once a month with no problems at all. just make sure to have a little tool kit with the basic tools just in case. oh, and i drove my all original 67 289 coupe out here to phoenix from Foster City with no problems other than the gas bill!

If youve ever raced it (banged all 4 gears real hard)it should make that trip cruisin in 5th at 2500 rpm no problem.

If you take care of your stang I would not see why it wouldn't make it. I drove my 83 daily driver everywhere and back and it never failed me once. Although I used to laugh at all the brand new audis and lower end Mercedes that I would see broken down on the side of the road.

I drive my 331 daily in LA, and drove it up and down the 5, 3 times last year. It does well. I just can sit in too much traffic.

I drive my 347 for 80 miles every day between SJ and Pleasanton, and even in this weather it never heats up even 1 degree over 180. I beefed up my cooling system to handle any conditions.
