I just watched the news and they were reporting that all the employees got laid off and that they will be closing their doors.

its a shame!... i would have though the smaller dealers would be closed first... downtown ford, senator ford and harrold ford... it just shows the economy is slowing down and everyone would rather buy a honda/toyota/nissan... [ June 28, 2008, 01:32 AM: Message edited by: 93ReefBlue5.0 ]

It's really a sad thing. I worked there for many years and saw the writing on the wall. All of the laid off employees can thank the former owner's and management of that dealership for the position it's in today. It wasn't the case of fraud like Vacaville, it wasn't the location like Senator or Placerville, it was the owners not being proactive and upper management not managing but still making $100k plus a year. I'm eager to see who buys that place and turns it around.

The economy played a small part in it but 90% of it was management. I don't want to get into specific details but that place did great 2 years ago, then someone left and went to another dealer. Since then EG has been going down the drain and the "other" dealer is doing quite well.
