From what I learned about the fox body is: 89-90ish are good motors.(forged from the factory)93 is not forged. Therefore...it is garbage. Maybe that is why he is laughing. [Roll Eyes]

the only difference was the pistons....

not that big of a deal if you are going to just a bolt on car with no power adder ...well small shot of nitrous doesn't hurt it either.....

but anyways...that car is frickin ugly as it is....

That is an ignorant claim, in my opinion. The block will split down the middle before you will encroach on hurting the hyper pistons in those motors.

There are plenty of examples on turbomustangs.

I would like to dispell this rumor.

please elaborate!

I thought the forged motor was better for a power adder?

The forged piston motors are more forgiving of a bad tune for obvious reasons, but when it comes down to it, on a good tune. The weak link is not the hyper pistons, it is in fact the block.

Check out stock block chronicles over on turbomustangs.

ohh i know the whole 93 motor thing, i just didnt get it maybe he was laughing cause someone did a swap or maybe becuase the motor being 93 w/hypers.. but if i'm not mistaken his cobra has same shortblock minus cam with hyper pistons too.. but maybe were all getting into this alittle to deep over a craigslist car in sandiego. I just think its a cool different car that can hang with the mustang boys an no body would expect it. [Big Grin]

You are in fact, misguided.

Here is the link

http://www.theturboforums.com/stockblock.php

Specifically, check out "BarryD" and "Engineerd" they are deep into the 10s, low 10.30s in fact, on a stock block with HYPEREUTECTIC pistons.

Not a single piston hurt, but the stock block?

SMOKED!!
