Topic: Will my car pass smog with longtubes?

I just got notice that i have to smog my car but have a few questions... I have longtubes and off road h on my car right now and i no longer have the stock manifolds or the stock h... If I were to buy an h pipe with cats for my longtubes will it pass smog?

If your motor is stock, it would likely pass with sniffer but fail the visual.
There are shops out there that are easy on the visual, but those types of establishments are getting more and more scarce.
The general trend is that shop owners are getting less and less willing to put their business on the line to help out random walk ins.
Your best bet is to ask on this forum and maybe you will get lucky and someone will PM you some info about who you can take it to that will overlook some aspects of the visual.

It all depends on the smog shop I knw that some places are assholes and some are hella cool

What Luke said - I have long tubes on both my foxes and the performance gain is worth the hassle to me. 19 out of 20 shops I go to won't test the car, but it's worth finding the ones that will for this mod.
Which is screwed up, of course. Because they don't affect emissions in any way.
Actually I have a lot more problems with only having 2 cats with the longtubes - that is what most shops fail me on. Which is also screwed, because they are CARB legal!
Still, do it. It's well worth the hassle.
