I did this to my kids power wheel. I used a small gel filled motorcycle battery out of a Harley. It was great until it blew out the rear end. It did wheelies too.

I did that to my son's quad years ago...Some of the old timmers my remember....Yeah, I ran 2 battery's for 24 volts...I rigged a switch so he could switch from 12volts to 24...Its cool and fun for a while....
Here's the bad things...If you drive in 24v on grass you'll burn out the motors FAST....I tried RC car motor heatsinks and that helped, but they still would burnout...Second, it's kinda funny, but you go through tires/wheels hella quick too...I only bought 2 sets, but getting replacement parts was a pain in the ass sometimes...Power wheels would not sell me replacement motors and gear boxes...They said that if they were wired wrong they could be sued....Long story short I would just find some motors/gearboxes on Ebay....
Oh yeah, my son was only 3!...Fixing the powerwheels got old, so at 3 years old I just him got a 33cc go cart instead....JDUB07' with the same kind of gocart would race my son, but my son would kick his ass...hehe....Power to weight ratio my son had an advantage...lol
