... but the manuals are so much better. I had an 03 Mach1 5-spd. Such a sexy beast.

I can't imagine why anyone would want one with an automatic. Maybe that's why they produced so few.

Some guys like the idea of "point and go" with out worrying about shifting.

FIXED.
Automatics are for trucks and SUV's.

What I dont understand about the automatic Mach 1's is why did ford not use the forged Cobra crankshaft???All auto Machs came with a cast crank, while the 5 speed cars had the forged crank??

Yeah, what ever u say buddy!!! :
I guess low 13's bone stock in a 281ci N/A 3500lb car is slow?? Or how about 12.9 @ 106 with just a set of drag radials?? Is that slow?? Everyone underestimates these cars...(not my times btw, times from Mach1registry)
Automatic's are only cool on an all out drag car IMO... [ December 23, 2007, 06:07 PM: Message edited by: EPIKMACH ]

Easy man I was just giving iceman and bottled 95 some shit for the automatic tranny people . My statement was meant to be just as ridiculous as them saying that most people won't modify or be able to compete with a manual car . I used to laugh about 5 year's ago when people would say they would show Me their tail light's just cause My car was an aod but that was before people realized that an automatic can be made into an ass whooping unit. I won't get into the old argument of how fun a stick is to drive ect. but I am happy with My setup .

For the record, I said no such thing. There is no doubt that a built auto is a superior drag race transmission. My point was simply that in anything other than a full tilt strip car, a manual is more fun, more efficient, and faster. That statement applies even more directly to a stock or even mildly modified Mach 1.

Did'nt mean to put any word's into Your mouth. I will agree that a stock auto tranny on a stock or mildly modified engine is'nt as fun as a stick car would be, but I think a high horsepower street/strip car is fun to drive with any transmission in the tunnel.

I definitely agree with that sentiment.
