I've been seeing Mark Mann since 2000. I bought my GT from Hayward Ford and he was my first service advisor. He educated me on mustangs and took care of me when I was short on funds. He guided me on mods and how to take care of my car. Mark Mann was my service advisor, neighbor and most importantly my friend. He will be missed.

Mark was about to start helping me restore my 89 Saleen....I tried to get ahold of him all weekend as I just got some parts in the mail. I had a bad feeling when his mailbox was constantly full all weekend, because he was normally an easy guy to get ahold of. I called Ford service this morning and found out what happened, and I am in shock.
He was a great guy, our "go-to" guy at Hayward Ford, and he loved Mustangs.
RIP Mark Mann, and my condolences to his friends and family.

Exactly.
I'm sure he was a great guy and he will be missed by many, but some of you idiots will still street race. He did, and he's gone. Learn from it. It is OK to back down from a challenge or postpone it for a day at the track.
I am no angel, and have done stupid shit in the past like everyone else, but street racing now is just stupid.
Now, many of you will think that I am an insensitive asshole for saying this but because of all of the domestic and import street racers, many of us have had to give up driving our cars for fear of having them impounded for no reason other than suspicion of being a "racer".
STOP STREET RACING AND THESE THREADS WILL NOT HAPPEN. [ November 21, 2007, 10:10 PM: Message edited by: BlueOvalRacing ]

I apologize for my heartless remark. R.i.p. to the people who die everywhere.
On a different but related note. Anytime a driver gets into a car a decides to drive 50 m.p.h. over the national highway speed limit of 55 m.p.h. ... He or She is putting themselves and their passenger(s) in harms way. I do believe when two guys decide to race. I think they know the risks.
It sucks when someone dies young. What can be done in retrospect to the incident? Make stiffer laws and fill jails up with street racers? Thats stupid. I think the answer is to provide the racers with a safe place to race. Maybe at that empty polluted place in Alameda? Used to be a Navy airport or something? What about Half moon Bay? Somewhere close. IN THE BAY AREA! What do I know... I'm just a demented fool.
