Anyone do home and/or termite inspections? Looks like I scored a place fairly cheap...just want to make sure it's not cheap for a reason.

If you are buying a house from someone it is their responsibility to pay for an inspection. Your real estate agent should ask them to do it.

I think it's the buyer that must pay for the inspection.

You are exactly right...if I was purchasing it from a seller. It's a foreclosure...all this is on me.

Ya, with the shape the market is in, I'd be damned if I'd pay "retail" for a house right now.

Nope
depends on what kind of inspection. Certain lenders or fha loan require some that the buyer has to pay for (like roof cert). In a normal sale the seller provides a pest/termite report. A regular home inspection is something that the buyer gets just for piece of mind that everything is in good working condition. With a foreclosure its all out the window and the buyer has to pay for it all. [ October 23, 2007, 02:54 PM: Message edited by: Dag302 ]
