It's running REALLY RICH (stock GT computer/harness, couple wires extended that you can see in the pics above, no after pics yet I got done in the dark!).
hopefully a tune doesn't cost me too much, I'm at $1703 with rough record keeping to buy the car, and make it run with DOHC's ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) [ October 03, 2007, 05:01 AM: Message edited by: Blind ]

Nice job–real sleeper
How do you go about smog checking after a swap like this?
I've been wanting to do this too, but I thought the smog issues would be too much hassle. [ October 03, 2007, 08:13 AM: Message edited by: iron281 ]

no different than any other car, it's not like they take the VIN and look it up in a book to make sure it had that motor, if it's a mustang motor offered that year they just smog it that way.
I've never had a problem with smogging my `89 4cyl swap car, and I don't expect any with this car ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Sleeper
I want to but there's holes under all the badges on this car
I can't think of anything better to replace the GT badges with either.

Nice job.... I vote that u keep those exact badges because everyone knows what the 96-98 GT4.6L badges represent "SLOW!!!!" I always wanted to make a sleeper car out of a 96-98 GT and keep it looking & sounding relatively stock...
Does it fit under the stock GT hood??? [ October 03, 2007, 08:39 PM: Message edited by: EPIKMACH ]

Very cool!
Love that color. That car would look wicked with some Hyper DD FR500s.
Is that a stock color? It looks a little more vibrant that the run of the mill laser red. [ October 03, 2007, 09:24 PM: Message edited by: Luke87GT ]

yeah I think it would look good with some FR500's, but with the car needing an SCT x-cal2 and a dyno tune, I won't have money to put into appearance stuff yet
once I get it running right, I'm taking the notch apart again, so I'll be running the 17x9's with 275's on the back of the 97 soon, I think that will be a pretty "stock looking" setup that will fill the rear wheel wells out.
color is stock AFAIK, just had some good lighting this evening.
I think most laser red cars have faded a lot, this one has some spots but overall the paint is pretty nice.

ported gt40 heads/1.6rr's/tfs 1 cam/intercooled s-trim/42lb injectors, and swapping the BBK equal length shorties for some dynomax equal lengths that I picked up recently doing a side job for a friend.
I've had too many parts sitting in my garage for too long, but I couldn't stand to take the motor out again because I love driving the car too much, but now I have another mustang to drive while I work on it ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
