My bosses' boss sent me a mandatory meeting invitation. When I arrived, I sat down with about 10 other people and got told they are cutting jobs due to the slow economy.<br /><br />Hey, no big deal - getting let go always bites but there will be another new job around the corner, new things to do, people to meet, and places to go. I do computer security and have been working in the financial industry ever since 2001, when the high tech sector was tanking. Now the pendulum is swinging the other way. I'm not going to name my company, out of respect for them.<br /><br />Losing a job is always difficult, especially after a long run, but I've been through that enough times that it doesn't bother me much. I'll end up somewhere else, probably better, definitely interesting.<br /><br />Imagine if marriage was like that.
