I went there for 2 semesters, their Fire Science Major is just a bunch of BS. All the classes they told me to take was Criminal Justice and never learned anything about Fire management, technology or anything.

I didn't go to Sac but college was the craziest, hardest, most memorable event in my life.
And when you get out with your degree you'll be surprised at how much you were making compared to before you went (depending on your major) and it won't even come close..

Do not think that once you have your degree your going to be golden. I just graduated May and I am still looking for a good job. Its very very competitive. Get an internship if you can!!!

Ive got a double major in finance and insurance/risk mgmt. I have got job offers, however none were what I wanted. Im just saying its not that easy to get a job right out of school.

Well i currently work for the state and plan on going into investigations in my agency. ive already researched the job and some others and starting salary with a bachelors in criminal justice is between 3800 and 4200. so ive done a lil checkin ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
but the degree just allows you to apply, a lot of its who you know. luckily my uncle works for the ATF and as soon as i get my piece of paper ima be tryna check him out. his job pays WELL

I plan on starting the Sacramento Sheriff’s Academy in February. A Sacramento Sheriff deputy makes between 4,500-5,500 a month starting out and that’s not including incentive pay, overtime, medical, or the awesome 3% pension you get. On top of that as a Deputy you have to work the jails for at LEAST two years which gives you time to finish a degree. The CHP start out at even more. Furthermore, to be a deputy all you need is a GED.
