Just got the call from my Captain, we're going to Plumas National Forest tomorrow for the big fire going on there right now. It's going to be my first off forest assignment and i should be gone for 2 weeks or more. Should be able to afford my engine when i get back

A federal Type 2 management team was summoned to oversee efforts to fight a group of fires being called the Antelope Complex.
The fires, believed to have been sparked by lightning Thursday afternoon, were burning between Susanville and Portola. Click here to find out more!
Some summer residences and campgrounds in the Antelope Lake area were evacuated as a precaution, but no homes or communities were currently threatened, officials said.

I didn't sleep very good. Should be at the fire by 10am this morning. Kinda hoping they tell us to work at night. i heard its hella hot during the day and hella cold at night, should be an interesting adventure.

yea its been really hot up here. 2 nights ago i could see the smoke clouds lit up by the fire, it looked like it was just over the hill, but its about 20 miles from where im at. pretty smokey here though
