My neighbor has a fit that I park near her house. It's been going on for a year. Now on my way to work my truck (diesel) starts sputtering like the fuel line is clogged or gunked up. Is ther any way to tell if someone tampered with my gas tank and put sugar or something in it?? What should I do? It is being towed to Ford right now. I am very pissed. It's gonna be expensive huh???

What year diesel is it?....I know you have to change the fuel filter/water serperaters quite often on those things...Don't quote me, but I think it's every 15K....Just a thought...

I disagree with what that link said. In gasoline engines, I've found that sugar in the gas tank will clog fuel injectors. This will either cause them to stick open and flood cylinders or they will not work at all. Sugar can also collect on the valves and cause them to stick. I've seen it and I've fixed it. In a diesel it's a different story. If sugar in the fuel got to your injectors they will have to be replaced. Id check around the filler tube for signs of anything that was spilled and still might be there. If there was any vandalism done to your truck I would make a police report and if you have a right to park where you do (not illegal parked) I would name your neighbor as a suspect. The cost of the repair will reflect the severity of the charges if you can prove she did it. I'd definatley claim it under your insurance though.
