has anyone here attended a bartending school? I'm looking to get suggestions on which schools are good. I'm in El Dorado Hills(sacramento area). I'm just looking for a side job for nights/weekends..thanks in advance for any help...

dont do it. get training as a barback then bartend. restaurants do not like bartenders who come from schools because they are not trained in a pressured enviornment and they worry too much about all the shit that goes into making drinks. experience is the best way to learn. i worked in a bar at a really nice restaurant and everyone told me the same thing including the managers. Agreed my sister owns two bars told me the same thing they prefer to train you how they would like find a small place to start then u will learn work ur way to something with a bigger crowd more money good luck whatever u do

yea starting as a barback sounds like the better route to go. but also knowing ure shit about mixing drinks WILL come in handy. start out as a barback and take bartending classes at the same time
