So I spent all day looking at cars since I can't find anything local. I've narrowed the search down to a new '06 or '07 GT, or a 03 Lightning with 20K miles that's pristine. I don't know anyone who owns a Lightning, so does anyone have feedback on them? Or feedback on how much you like your 05+ GT? I'm looking for a daily driver and the prices are about even for the two...

My good buddy has a Lightning, he Loves it. If you haven't driven one defiantly do it before you make your decision. The torque is FUKKIN NUTS.......

I'm happy with my '06 GT. I beat the piss out of it for a year and its still running good. Just needs a clutch. (454 lbs of torque)
Are you a truck guy or a sports car guy? That is the question you need to ask yourself.

I'm more of a sports car guy, I love 5/6 speeds, but the truck is appealing since I have a supercharged cobra already...Anyone else on Lightnings?

Mustang's got only a couple uses, go fast, handle good, and looks good.
Lightning's will tow trailers, move stuff, and do all of the above. More uses outa a lightning especialy if you already have a blown cobra,

I used to have a '00 Lightning. I had a fair amount of mods and the thing was an absolute blast. If you can live with basically a two seater (albeit one that can haul stuff), then buy the Lightning.

I think there is a simple way to decide... Do you want a fast car or a fast pickup?

I don't think you can pull very much with the newer Lightnings....

Thanks Black88, there's no better place than Scottsdale in the spring. Can't wait.
So I'm highly considering the Lightning before the weekend, but the dealership isn't willing to budge much on price. What's fair for an excellent condition 03, 22,500 miles, warranty till '09, bed cover (not painted to match), exhaust and cold air? They're asking $32K (new ones went for $34 I believe), BB is $26.5K...

I had a buddy that had a Lightning. Its pretty impressive. i liked it. I own a 1999 saleen 351. The Lightning has the same engine but the supercharger is mounted on top of the engine. I think that if you get the Lightnng. It would cost you less to get it really fast. Compared to the GT. Thats my opinion.
