Air Force here. 13+ years. Degrees are nice, but where can you travel for free, get a degree for free, and make decent pay?
And yes, I've got my Degree as well.

Air Force
12 years now. If you can get the right job... it can be like a normal 9-5.... I don't have that, but I see it every day! I have been stationed with the other branches, and beleive me... you are treated much better in the AF. Just my opinion, but if I had to do it all over again, my only other choice might have been the Coast Gaurd.
Besides... who wants to be called seaman?
JohnB... what do you do in the AF? [ November 03, 2006, 03:55 PM: Message edited by: Notch1320 ]

If I had a choice to join the service the A-Force is the branch I would commit to. I have a buddy that is a reserve and he loves it due to travel, pay and benifits. Of course the AF rquires brains. [ November 03, 2006, 08:04 PM: Message edited by: wikaweez ]

USAF 5 years here... I love my job, on the flight line (even if 347_C.I.D. asks me how to use a multimeter all the time! j/k man!)
Best branch to be in by far! My old man did 20 in the Navy and told me he would kick my ass if I went Navy. I'm very happy I went USAF.

This post was sent by JEs50. I am thinking of being a nuclear propulsion engineer. I would be a petty officer 3rd class E4 after 6 months in the service because the program is so tough. Or an EW: Electronics Warfare Technician. [ November 03, 2006, 10:54 PM: Message edited by: 73beast351c ]

If you go into the Navy, then the only way to go would be to SEAL training to be a SEAL. You do not want to be some puke on a ship cleaning shitters. If you have any questions PM me and I will tell you what it entails (been there done that) and how to get in shape BEFORE you go in.

C-5 Crew Chief. Started out Flightline, did the Flying Crew Chief deal for 10 years, played Expediter, now I am a Section Chief for our CTK (tool crib).
C-17's? Heck Cdog, I heard you couldn't stand to be away from them...so you gave up Engineer and cross-trained to LoadSmasher! hahaha
And 94gt, you only WISH you could work in my section now.

I just want to make sure that the Crew Chief put his stones on the ground correctly so he wont get lost when its time to go home!

What I said wasn't meant to bash you in anyway, hell someone has to reign in the wizard over there. I would lose an arm before working with Tool-ano again [ November 07, 2006, 11:16 AM: Message edited by: 94gt ]
