lol I think you can just about buy a 93 R, 98 R and a 00 R for the same price of a 06 GT500

When Serramonte Ford had the 00 Cobra R is was going for around $100K and I thought that was fukkin rediculous . The Cobra R was a limited production collectors car. The Shelby is a mass produced stang, I just dont understand it.
Dealerships wanna make there money any way they can, I guess. They probably figure since the Eleanor stang had started the craze about the shelby GT500s they could really take advantage since America is in love the with the GT500s history. But if they're selling em now for around $100K I dont really think they will appreciate that much down the line. $100K for a ford is just fukkin nuts [ August 16, 2006, 11:44 AM: Message edited by: CLEEN 50 ]

Santa Rose Ford had a Cobra R that they were trying to sell for like 70k+ and couldn't get rid of it for like 6 months.
There are supposted to be at least 7000-10000 GT500's produced so I think if people are patient they will be able to get them for MSRP or less..

Not so much the 00R, even thought the motor was unique the 93R only had 107, and the 95R only 250. I personally would think the 93 being the first year of the cobra, the last of the fox body, and the first of the R series would hold more value than the 95 or 00. Just my .02 [ August 16, 2006, 05:29 PM: Message edited by: bottled02GT?? ]

I think it will just come down to how many R's where crashed for each year. I just realized a typo I made its a 95 not 98.

100k????? What a rip. You can buy a new saleen, a new bike, and $20K left over for whatever you want...jeez
I know everyone is pro mustang here, but think about it..you can get a new viper and put a twin turbo kit on it....and still have a lot of money left for track tires

Ya, you can get a lot of really nice European cars for that kind of money.
For 93k I would buy an '03 Cobra, put 10k worth of mods in it and put the other 60k towards a down payment on a house
