How much is the car going to weigh? yeah 500hp with a blower but is it going to compete with the NA decently light Zo6?

yeah um 3100ish lbs Z06 505/500 against a 500/480 3900lb fat pig...I mean don't get me wrong it'll be a nice car with a hefty powerplant, but dont expect it to kill stock Z06's.

WOW I didn't know 3900 What is Ford thinking????? Thats heavy!!! Thats pretty hard on parts too. Tough for the tranny and rest of the drivetrain to be lugging around 4000+ with passengers. Oh well. I am sure it will still be pretty quick and there is always the whipple or KB upgrade

It kills me that they are putting that killer powerplant in such a whale.
Surely 4000+ lbs won't do well in the turns. No 4000 lbs car will for that matter.
I don't know what they hell they did to make it so heavy, but take it out!
GT500 = weighs at least 500 pounds more than the competition.

OMFG I wonder how much it will cost to insure that thing. Sux that the production numbers will be limited. I think Ford is making a big mistake there.

I beg to differ! My SRT handles very well and most rags tested it around .88-.90g's in the skid pad. The GT will be fine!

now I know 'handling' means different things to different people, but lateral grip is really but one of the components that make a car a 'decent handler'
generally speaking, muscle cars are not great handlers even if they have a lot of grip IMHO

Stock for stock the edge will go to the chebby but the past alway's repeat's itself and with a different pulley and a few little trick's the cobra will own. Iknw the next thing You are thinking is what if the C6 does upgrades? Well they will be a hell of alot more expensive than upgrading the cobra. Not to mention the cobra is a 4 seater which is a plus in most peoples book's. Bottom line is what is it going to cost to get one of these bad boy's compared to the vette?
