Maybe it is a Town Thing or maybe a Black thing....But I enjoy it. I used to be out there swangin too, it is just part of being young (in that area). Kinda like the age old saying "When in Rome do as the Romans". At this point in my life I wouldnt be out there. But I aint mad at those who are. YEEEEEE.....I love to see The Town represented. 10-15 years ago no one knew about what goes on every Friday/Saturday night. Now look even folks in the Burbs that never been to Oakland know about it.

I'm no stranger to bay area, I love it, it's where I grew up, but I think it says alot about the city of Oakland when it's people choose to portray/represent themselves like FOOLS. BUT i have been to where people meet up for side shows and stuff decided i wasnt gonna go and be a part of it just bc i dont wanna be there when shit goes bad and people act like idiots not to add i wasnt w the brightest people but your right oakland does have good points and a lot of good things going on like w other cities just as we all should know the news doesnt show stuff like that and for those who havent been to oakland much or know what the good things are there only what they hear and see their left to assume thats all it is about sad but true and w the hyphy movement seems most of the youth would rahter be known for that then for the positive things they do out there!

ok, I already know where this is going. So this is my last post on the subject. I was going off what YOU said remember, when you said I like to see my city represented like that. Or am I wrong. This post is about a video of SIDESHOWS!!! You know idiots acting a fool, jumping on cars, destroying other peoples property that sort of thing . I ask this to the oakland native, what else is your city known for besides crime, murder, drugs, sideshows, low property value?? Tell me, because I think I'm too dense to understand

okay not tryin to get into your argument w him you both have points im just gonna tell u from my personal experience out there what ive known seen and done thats good.Though this was like 10 yrs ago now still sure the same stuff is going on bc ive heard/seen about it. I personally helped w the east bay conservation corp every weekend me and a bunch of other people who were waaaay older then me( same age as the people acting like fools in the streets) we went to the parks beaches schools retirement homes volunteered just hanging out w the old people helping around the place picked up garbage at parks and beaches etc helped plant new plants and make it look nice and clean at my school we painted a murial made a whole garden and trail for others to enjoy. I danced a lot and performed at a bunch of places w other people who were doing positive things like that not out acting like fools and like he mentioned the festival at the lake where lots and lots of people go and jack london has events and things going on there as well. Theres a lot going on that we just dont hear about bc we dont live there and dont look into it. Yea some parts are all fucked off and some people really just dont give a fuck about the town but its ignorant for people to assume thats all oakland is about bc thats all theyve heard or seen and i will say its also ignorant for people to destroy others property, to kill or hurt others for no reason or stupid reasons, and its not the brightest thing to be swangin them in streets and dancing on moving vehicles or whatever just tryin to make u see there are good things and good people in oakland
