Two weeks ago i took the 68 down to the stripper and i finally got it back today. Someone did some good bondo work on it that we didn't notice. Before we took it down we noticed the front left fender was damaged and we fixed that but there was a lot of surprises on the left side when we got it back. The floorpans are worse than we thought though

Time for some metal work. Hell think of it this way. Now you are into the fun part. Where you actually are creating things.

The next step is to fix the rust outs and install the MII suspension and install a 4 link suspension and a 9" in the rear.
EDIT: and also either a roll bar or a cage and PAT will be busy [ April 15, 2006, 09:40 PM: Message edited by: Cobra5.0Jeep ]

how much does it cost to strip it down like that and have it sealed? I got a car in the back yard im debating on doing that to. If it's not too much then I might opt for it

That looks like a good strip job Shouldn't be too much of a problem to weld in new floor pans. Now you really know what you are working with.

I'll take a guess since i have no idea what kind of car you want stripped or what condition it is in. It'll be between 1200-2200+ depending on how stripped the car is. The more they have to protect for you from the stripper the more money they charge you. Also the more pieces they have to strip the more money. My trunk lip cost me a 100 bucks and i think the doors were 75 each. Then to get it painted is half of what you paid for the stripping. [ April 16, 2006, 06:06 PM: Message edited by: Cobra5.0Jeep ]

This is very cool.
I am def following your progress since a 67-68 fastback is my absolute favorite car on this planet. I owned a 67 coupe as my first car.
I am curious to see how it turns out (assuming you finish), how much it costs, and how much you end up spending.

Yep we are. Tomorrow we're going to bang out a couple dents and maybe start cutting rustouts out. We need to go pickup the metal though to weld in. Floorpans are being shipped to us now
