Salvage titles vs 4 cylinder concersations. Which one is better? I heard some people say salvaged title cars are worth %50 of what they would normally be. What about conversations? Opinions plz

I would think the conversion would be better because you would get lower insurance rates. Most major insurance companies will not even insure a salvage.

I never had a problem getting full coverage insurance on any of my salvage title bikes or cars. A lot of misinformed myths out there. I have plenty of friends also who had full coverage on salvage title vehicles also. Do your own research.

either one selling them is going to be hard. So if your going to built one and keep it I would built a four clinder conversion, Insurance is cheap, you can get one cheap.

i'd rather have a x4banger or convert then buy a salvage title car.they just scare me.unless it was a theft recovery and not a wrecked car then i'd feel safe.

My 5.0 is full coverage and it has a salvage title cause of theft.

one person can start a untruth about salvage title vehicles and then it spreads like wildfire. Again, find out for yourself.

Are you planning on keeping the car? That is pretty much all it comes down to, which car will be worth more if to be sold...after reconstruction/conversion

My drop is a salvage title....It was extra clean so I had to buy it. You just kinda gotta research the car and check it out fully. You can salvage some of the value by getting the car to a "revived" status. Meaning it was inspected by the State or CHP and was found to be road worthy. Holds a lil more value that way.

I was asking because I am dumping my salvage project and am now starting on a car that has been converted to a v-8. I was just wondering... do u guys take a step back when you see a car that is for sale had been a four banger?

having done the swap myself I would just have to take a quick look over a few things to see if the conversion had been done right, and if so then I would consider that car worth more than an original v8 with the same miles because its lived 95% of its life with 88hp so it cant really be as beaten on.

Yes the Supercharged coupe is for sell. The conversion car I bought had the following when i bought it. Tubular K-member, control arms, coil-overs, 302 with edelbrock heads, hollley intake, 4-lug disc brakes and a bunch of other stuff. I have many plans for the car now.
