Well a 1911 is a style of a .45 pistol it is wide spread as it was sold to the military there for their patent on it had limitaions so everyone copied it. Glock doesnt make a 1911, they do make a .45 but for a .45 Id go with a 1911 style if you tell us what you are doing with it and a price range I can suggest a perfect model. There are so many 1911 models (the guns used in man apart, bruce willis) are 1911's I must add they are the most famouse .45's. Glock is a great gun! I love them, the 35 is hard to beat! All models of Glocks are great! If you want a carry pistol go with a Glock If you want a shooter go with a mil spec 1911 springfield they are great with a few cheap upgrades. Yes, I know my guns. you need to pass the handgun safety course. (easy, and its good for 5 years) then you fill out an application, and they do a background check. you have to wait 10 days from the application date to pick up the gun. If you want ill take you to the gun shop i goto and help you pick something. i want to go look at rifles anyways ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Why'd you get a Star?
HK USP is the best gun hands down. You get what you pay for. $850 = 1 inch groups at 50 yards

Make sure you are able to pass the bgrd check too. Most gun stores will issue you store credit instead of giving your money back in the event of a failed bgrd check.
Nice gun Sal. I have quite a few myself. Tho I am not a collector

Well I want it for protection and bi-monthly trips to the shooting range. I shot the Glock a couple weeks ago and love he kick. I was thinking about the $600-1100 range and work the upgrades later. I also like the idea of the safety being on both sides.

I shoot a sig, but partial to them, however I shoot a glock in the Academy and they are really nice guns as well. Between the two I would go with a sig hands down but more money. For the price glocks are great guns. My next gun is going to be a glock compact .40.

Porcelain Glock .45? Let me see so when you go through a metal detector it won't go off? Good luck hunting one down...

So you just let everyone know that you illegally carry a loaded gun in your car. Last time I looked that's a felony. real smart.

What gun are you talking about? A Glock doesn't have manual safeties.
Gentlemen, don't mean to flame but it sounds like you all listen to too much rap and watch way too many movies. Sure you'd like to own a Desert Eagle... ever rack the slide on one? It has 8 springs and weighs a ton and only carries the following rounds: 9 (.357), 8 (.41 and .44) or 7 (.440 or .50) rounds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Eagle
Sure you'd like to own a Glock... wouldn't it suck for the gun to go off because you forgot to put on the safety on? :rolleyes:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GLOCK
