I know a guy that works at Cingular and when they look up records it says "private" as well.
I guess you're going to have to dig deeper then.

YEs there is but the one problem is that for the company to do it they need permission from a police agency. Atleast this is what i was told when i was gettin prank calls ever hour for a week. Try contacting your local police and ask.

You can't *69 a private number because the call back # is unknown.

Yeah.. you can't 69 a private number.. i just called my phone company (sbc) and got the privacy option or whatever that's called. now.. i can't get calls from private numbers unless they unblock their number .. i really hope this person is stupid enough to call again..

ya I work at cingular also and there is no way to find a blooked number unless you call your telephone company tell them your getting bad messages and I believe they can do something. I believe its hard do you need a police report etc.

Here in Ohio you must have a court order to find out a private number.

If it becomes a problem, have the phone company add to your phoneline the feature where it doesn't accept incoming blocked calls. The message notifies the caller "sorry this phone line doesn't accept incoming block calls, please call back and dial *82 and then the number". Now you will be able to see everybodys phone number. But if this person is a true psycho, there are ways to get around that feature. [ January 14, 2006, 05:05 PM: Message edited by: Venomized93 ]
