Hi guys, took a trip out to Sears Point as a spectator for the first time in about 5 years. Saw some very nice cars but was quickly reminded why I don't race there.
It's quite a cluster fuck. Over-crowded. Way too many 15+ sec cars. Wheel-spin city! Cars would stage and roll back due to the ground not being level.
I'm good for another 5 years (: Enough bitchin... I took a few pics tonight and wonder if the owners are members of this board.
Sorry for the quality. My night-mode pics wouldn't turn out the best if there was any movement while the pic was captured.
Enjoy!
There were a few mach1's that were impressive running low 13's with EXTREMELY limited traction on radials.

The track is not downhill or uneven.. it's the freaking wind that pushes the cars back..

I don't recall what the zo6 ran, but it was in the 12's. Sear's point doesn't show the MPH so its hard to gauge what the car is capable of when traction is as bad as it was tonight.
2Coupes, you were on regular old street radials? What 60fts were you seeing tonight?
The wheel spin was out of control tonight. MANY people getting sideways at half-track...

I've always been CONSISTENTLY faster in the same cars at Sears Point compared to Sac. ET and MPH.

infineon does show mph.. maybe the thing was broken.. oh well.. i can't justify driving 2 hours to sac.. too far in case something brakes.... oh well.. hopefully it'll be less crowded and a whole lot stickier next week. Are you going Don?

Ya that is interesting, I've heard a few people say that as well... But for everyone of them there are probably 10+ that say the opposite.
I've personally had more luck with Sac and enjoy the atmosphere a little more. Granted I haven't given Sear's a chance in 5 years.

I remember that car but I did not photograph it. Sorry.
Does anyone know anything about that blown blue LX hatch that ran high 11's. What are the specs? It was pulling the front wheels at launch despite track conditions. The motor is shown in the original post. [ October 20, 2005, 01:43 AM: Message edited by: Luke87GT ]

The white vert has a TFS stage 1 cam, ported stock heads, exhaust, gears, and an eldelbrock intake, 14.2 was his best I believe My red coupe has 245/50/16 Toyo street tires. I was seeing 2.1 60ft times.
That blue LX has an aftermarket block thats a 331, Brodix heads, S trim(only at 8psi because of his 10.5:1 compression)

The white vert was extremely clean but put up some unimpressive numbers. He was spinning pretty badly, and Sears wasn't lighting up MPH, so it was hard to gauge.
The blue LX... 10.5:1 331, H/C/I, Strim, wheels up launch... and only high 11's? Gotta be more in there. Maybe he went faster, I only caught 2 of his passes.

The best I saw the Z06 run was 12.3 @ 119/120. Nice car, but it had some damage on the drivers side behind the rear window. for 2Coupes' car!

damn 119/120? Thats crazy..
Patrick, i don't think that was vince's cobra. he's got different rims on the front. Last i talked to him his clutch was toast and he has thinking about finally having a non-stock one installed.
