yeah i would love to own a 03-04 but out of my price range!! thinking of either 96-98 cobra or 99 cobra... kinda like the look of 98 cobras.... what is the difference between the 98 cobra's and 99 cobra??

03-04 Mach 1!! [Wink]

yes a mach would be nice but i dont want to spend that kind of money.... thats why im leaning toward a 98 cobra and just drop 3-4 grand into it

a 98 would be nice, but most banks wont finance you for that. get the mach, love the shaker. [Big Grin]

yeah i love mach's but i can get a killer deal on a cobra with cash and have lots left over to do what I like with it... forged motor, etc

I start the Police Academy Nov. 7 and i wont be able to work that many hours so thats why i dont want a payment. When i get hired i'll finance something like a truck

difference from a 98 & 99 are the following..

diff body(duh)
IRS in the 99 and Solid Axle in the 98
320hp in the 99 vs 305 in the 98
The 96-98 blocks are Teskid so they are stouter.
the 99 has different heads, therefor the extra 15hp

Here is a sick Cobra that has a forged motor and ready for some boost. Its not mine, but would love to have it.... [patriot] If your not a member of the site, you'll have to register to see the post. http://63.247.78.250/~sacstang/forum/showthread.php?t=805

dont forget the intake manifold in the 99/01 flows better. the 99/01 cobra engine has more potiental then the 96-98 cobra 4v. id say go with the 99 cobra, if money is one of the main issues.

How much did you sell your rousch for?

potential for what? in stock form, there isnt that much advantage. only big advantage is the IRS for road track-handling, but for drag i think he is better off with the 96-98. like i said the 96-98 blocks Teskid so they can handle 1000hp but u just need to change the internals to equal the blocks holding power. have you seen stock rods on a cobra? they are pathetic..here is a comparison.

99/01 cobra motors like it more when ported heads and cams are installed, compared to the 96-98 cobra. the 96-98 cobra might be a little stronger, but either way, both engines need their internals swapped out for forged ones if a power adder is to be installed.
