This can occur as the detergents in high quality synthetic oils like Amsoil have cleaned away sludge and deposits left behind by conventional oils, revealing a preexisting leak that was previously clogged by junk...
Originally posted by 89notchBack: [qb] how do i know which type of amsoil to choose? [/qb]
Signature Series. 0w30 or 5w30 are both great year round oils in most cars. If your car owners manual specifies something heavier like 10w40 or 15w50, then go European car Formula 5w40 or Premium Protection 10w40 or 20w50... If your car is heavily modded, or a garage queen sitting for months at a time, their Z-ROD formula is great. It has higher levels of ZDDP, and is more resistant to corrosion and rust. another thing to consider, is how long you want to go between oil changes... Not all their oils go 15k+ between changes. Here's a chart of their oil application and drain intervals; http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g1490.pdf [/QB]
