Well I was just trying to wire up my new deck+beat for my bimmer and well stupid deck doesn't turn on! I've wired up my deck on my '86 from scratch(all stereo wires were cutout for some reason) and installed decks in a few of my cars. But this one man does it have me frustrated I have disconnected and reconnected every wire carefully and well it still gets no power! Is it possible that the defective? Or wire harness adapter not in the right place? Fuck man who knows if I'm doing something wrong right now kuz of this damn anger I have going on. Any suggestions?

I prefer to do all work on my cars myself but I think I'm gonna hold back my pride on this one and take it to get installed.

probably has an amp built in, did you use a harness for the install? If so you usually have to power the blue wire in the harness with the blue white coming off the deck.

Yeah I used the harness. I think I'm going to take it in tomorrow though.

Did you test the deck on your battery to see if its even good? Just takes a second and it will satisfy your ego and curiosity.

I hope they charge you a lot since its a BMW. It will be the beginning of a lot more you will be spending on that horribly built engine.

I agree that on a car like this is better to pay to get it installed its going to cost anywhere from 40 to 100 but worth it. I had a 2000 328i and payed $60 at frys to get it installed.

Yeah that's where I bought the deck at. Did you go to the audio section N ask about getting it installed?
87droptop50: No way am I keeping the stock deck on there I'm putting beat in my car too I need some bass.

I have subs in her car also ... Just retained the factory head unit . It's very easy to do this way since very thing is located in the trunk . Just disconect the factory amp harness and hook up there

Use a light tester ground the tester to the radio and test the red and yellow wire for 12volts

I know the BMW 745i series use the M.O.S.T BUS which is a optical fiber cable and is a pain in the ass since you have to use a terminator/loop ring to bypass parts of the system you remove... I don't know if your car is like this or not though...
I kept the factory radio in my 07 mazda 6 when i had it and just tied into the rear speakers output for subs... Shit was simple and did not cost much at all since I did all the work.
Just splice into the rear speakers wiring get some RCA connections from radio shack and add them on to the end of your splice and then go to your amp. Done!
