Clean cobra. The literal meaning of the stripes are "rookie stripes."

No. Saleen's side chevrons are different than the Grand Sport style stripes. Until the most recent version, they've always had a solid chevron, followed by a fading chevron.
They first appeared on the Foxbody Saleen, were rather tall and sat high on the car and crossed from fender to the door.
the SN95 version were still tall, but sat much lower on the car and were mostly on the door now
The new-edge chevrons were now much smaller, and were at the very bottom of the door.
The S197 also were the smaller variety and on the very bottom of the door.
After Steve left the company and started SMS Supercars, the two Mustang's bearing the Saleen heritage took different approaches to the evolution of the Saleen Chevron
Saleen Performance Vehicle's chose to make the chevrons even smaller, and moved them even lower, embossing them into the sideskirt
While Steve chose to move them back up to the top of the belt line and stopped fading the second chevron

Those stripes always remind me of the Ron Fellows Corvettes, there's some 18 year old middle eastern kid in natomas that's always trying to race and doing donuts in his probably has no idea what he has,

^^^ That. The stripes have way more in common with Corvette Grand Sport stripes than SMS Supercar chevrons...

It's common now for them to be referred to as Rookie Stripes. But real rookie stripes, at least in the SCCA, are on the back of the car. These are more like old FIA "Pit Stripes" (or Team Stripes). Pit/Team Stripes were used to help pit crews identify their driver's car coming down pit road. Especially helpful when the field is full of the same car in similar color combos...
The old meanings were "Novice" gets one stripe in one color, so his/her pit crew can identify the approaching car. Usually put on the right fender, other drivers on the track also know his/her skill level. Two stripes indicate some experience. Color often reflects "time in the seat". So when did Shaun tune a car for Rob Dyrdek? That seems far fetched to me unless I missed something! The only car rob has had built was the camaro and it was built and tuned at "All Speed Customs" !!!! Surely his tahoe, t-Rex, or go carts are not tuned!!

Atually that's not rob dyrdeks camaro. That is actually Josh kalis camaro. Good shit though, also was not aware Sean even tuned Chevys.. Good to know.. I know the chevy crowd has been a bit frustrated with the tuners, when they tune vettes with exhaust and intake they make low numbers
