This guy wants to work out a deal with me on it. He's a good friend of mine but I don't really know what I'm looking at in terms value for this car. Is this a good deal?

LOL boy is this the wrong forum to ask. By the Time the haters get done with it it will be worth 1500.00 and it is still a POS.
It looks like a decent car I am not sure if I would pay that much for it. How much of a deal is your budy going to give you?

How much would you pay? Is all cert'd and legal. I'm just not sure how much the rest of the stuff is worth. He's offering it to me for that price and free shipping from Portland to my door step. So basically 11.8 due to the distance. Good deal or no?

What's so funny about Supras? Why should I get it and pay what he's asking is it a good deal or something? Most peeps are telling me its a little pricey. Or are you just saying to get it because its a Mustang.

you couldn't build that car for $20k (unless you hack it together).

Keep in mind fellas that he's a good friend of mine and I have seen that thing run consistent 9s all day long. But I just don't know if I need something like this. If I do a drag car I'd want it to be faster than my solara and not slower, and this car is definitely a lot slower. But it would be cool to beat on it and its all cert'd and legal to 8.50. hmmmmm. But I really don't need this thing its just another toy. Anyone interested in it??? I got first dibs but hell I'm just not sure if this is the right car for me.

do people not read other peoples post before they type? He knows the guy! In the pay we don't play.. is that some kind of hard ghetto slang?
As far as the car couple things that you might want to take into consideration. First off its carb motor, I know your other cars are fuel injected do you have any experience tuning carbs? They can be a real pain in the ass when things go wrong.
Secondly, for a season on the bottle its going to need the bottom end freshened up. Ring kit, main and cam bearings etc. But since its the off seasons you could pull the motor maybe throw a nitrous cam in it, do some port work at run deeper into the 9's.
For me I'd pass personally.

Thank YOU finally 1 useful reply. Sheesh! I haven't played with carbs for year I'm an efi junky. Ya I'm leaning towards passing on it. I'd rather spend the money on my other cars instead of adding one to the collection of cars that need some work. Just no time for something like this.

You are right on the money bud. NOS is very hard on engine parts. But on the other hand if the car is solid and cert. To freshen up a botttom end only cost about 200 and then a new cam would run about 150. so for 350-400 you could have a car that runs mid to low 9's really isn't that bad of a deal. I would check the car over 2 or 3 times before purchasing it.

150 shot isn't that hard on the engine of that size. Also how often did he spray it. Is the 408 built on a stock block? What is done to the C-4. to much info needed still to make a informed decision on price. No I would not pay 11.5 for it. It is kinda of slow for 408 drag car. Barely getting into the 10's. Carbs are way easy to tune LOL mutch simpler then a EFI system and cheaper. So the answer is pass on it.

The 150 was sprayed just about every pass. I'm not sure of the block but I thought it was a dart. The c4 is built with reverse manual valve body and transbrake. I "believe" the rear is 33 spline too. Ya I'm gonna pass on this sucker its just not for me. I'd be more interested in a cert'd stock suspension roller like a lil hatch. Not a 4 eye though. Right now I have 2 spare motors 1 full th400 set up and 1 full 6 speed set up and a bunch of misc parts. I just need a body to put them in.

If it is a Dart block engine buy it. Hit it with a 300 shot and run mid 9's [ November 28, 2007, 03:39 AM: Message edited by: 2stangs69-91 ]

I think it's a good deal. If it had a Dart/SVO block it would definitely merit that price he's asking.
