Right now I'm talking to this guy who is selling his 95 Impala SS. Really nice, it's that greenish gray color. 85k original miles, stone stock save for a K&N intake and super 40s.
Guy is asking 6500obo. Only problem is......salvage title.
I'm going to run a carfax once I take a look at it, drive it, etc. If it clears my inspection, should I pull the trigger. The car won't be for me, but for my mom. Only downside I see is that it *might* not be insurable with our insurance company, I have to call tomorrow.
Any opinion would be greatly appreciated. And is it hard to convert a salvage title to a rebuilt title?

^thats what I'm tryin to avoid as it's for my mom and dad. It's been pretty hard to find a nice one that hasn't had it's fenders cut and all that. Plus not really looking to spend anything higher than 8k.

Sorry didnt read the whole thing, but your parents would be pimpin since been pimpin in it. You could get some automatic retractable running boards on the impala and they could get up in it that way.

Also if your considering a salvage title vehicle for your parents, thats just wrong. I'd never suggest one for them, stick with clean title.

Yeah I been doing my research since Oct. But just now got the funds. Worse comes to worse I'll expand my search area and check eBay.

There isn't a way to convert it. Salvaged is Salvaged in CA, for good.

Only way I buy a salvaged car is if it is very cheap and I have no intentions of dumping money into it.
Otherwise be prepared to take a big loss someday.

so a salvage title is better then a fenders cut??? I don't care how nice it is its salvaged.... spend a little more and get a clean title one so when you want to sell it you can get your money back!
