My neck and shoulders are killing me from riding my bike. Does this go away or am I sitting in the wrong posision???
I've only been riding for 5 days and hope my body just isn't used to it.

Your muscles aren't used to that position. It goes away once your riding for awhile. [ June 19, 2007, 06:09 PM: Message edited by: Venomized93 ]

what kind of bike do you have? my stepdad says a superbike is much different than a cruiser, as you can't ride a superbike as long/far. i guess it is the position you are in. you are crouched over on a sport bike and are more laid back/comfortable on a cruiser type bike

Its just a little 250 bike...but I'm crounched over some, I think I sit up more than a true sportbike though.
I think its the sitting possision of this bike...not crouched over enough and not upright like a cruiser but in the middle kinda. I don't know if that makes scence...Still fun as shit though. 90 on 880 on a little 250, you bet your ass I crouched then!

hahah!! yeah, my stepdad's old bike (suzuki bandit 1200) was more of a sport-touring bike, and he said he could ride it all day and not be hurting/fatigued.
but now, his current bike (gsxr1000) is a superbike and he says about an hour is all he can ride and he'll be hurting. it doesn't help that he is 6'10"

that is why I bought a Vmax. I love the race style bikes but I didn't think my body would.

Maybe get a lighter helmet? I know when I first started riding dirtbikes my helmet was kinda heavy and it took awile to build up the neck muscles to where I wasn't sore after riding.

Dont worry bro it takes a while to get used to it. When you get a newer bike your gonna have a sore back and wrists for a while. After a while I was able to ride my 03 636 for 4 hours straight!
