Sad shit here. Supposedly had to dodge a speeding car when pulling out of a driveway. The news report said that the owner was "surprised by the cars acceleration and lost control".

No. Front air bags use 3 sensors usually, 1 dead center facing fwd, and one on either side at approx 45 degrees facing the center. It takes roughly a 27mph (at least it used to) impact that closes 2 of the 3 sensors to set off the bags. The sensors are basically a steel ball that is held in place by a magnet. When the ball has enough force to leave the magnet, it closes the circuit, and boom!

Look's like they are dropping at a rate close to the original cobra's. Heard a story that 70% of the cobra's were totalled out in accident's! "not sure if it was true or not?" How many of the GT's were built?
