First performance mod I'd do is ditch the edelbrock carb and put on a decent holley.

Give her some nice free flowing exhaust, a nice carb, and go to cosmetics. Basic long tubes, with an X pipe just because I dont know of any with one but any cross over will do. Most important is the paint. These cares are sik with a solid paint job! Go dark silver-black and she will be an eye catcher.

Thank you everyone, The car already has exhaust but no headers, Its bogging down alot so i think the carb is shot and it also needs a tune up bad.. Any other ideas paint is descent interior is clean. (Also what size carb do you think i should run)

Actually in all seriousness, I would check the floor pans and uncarriage for rust. If pans are rusted or show signs of cancer. Change em immediately. Also get sequential blinkers if it currently does not have them. Also if the pneumatic lights are slow to rise or close. Look into getting that taken care of. ALso check for rust in the trunk. I have had several cougs and those are common problem areas.

If you don't car about fuel mileage throw on a 650 double pumper. Holley carbs are thousand times better than the Edelbrock/Carter ones, they are easier to tune, easier to rebuild and more reliable. Hell, I'd rather have a 500 cfm Holley 2 bbl over an Edelbrock 4 bbl.

Ditch the eddy carb and get a nice holley on there for sure.
Then look into whether or not you have an electroinc distributor or a points distributor.

Start with Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake, Holley carb, and a set of tri-y headers. Oh yeah, and don't forget gears.
If it were me I would yank the motor and build it as a 393 stroker

Get the engine tuned for reliable performance. Keep the interior/exterior relativity stock. Maybe change out to a newer system for comfort.
Don't put big chrome rims on it, keep it close to original, simple, and clean.
