So my bestfriend John and I went exploring up near where i live and they used to do Hydrolicmining up there and we didn't know what to expect to find. I have been reading about this mining town up there in one of my books. So we get there and its BADASS. The old mining bridge must have washed out recently because there was a new sign warning us about it. There was old mining equipment still around, old foundations of buildings. When we were climbing back up the hill we found a HUGE swarm of Ladybugs, there was MILLIONS of them in a 30 foot radius. I have never seen so many and thats when i noticed a Sluthbox on the side of the hill, so we climbed over the the Sluthsbox and John goes "We found what we were looking for" and at first i was hella confused and then he pointed out a cave and i immediately thought a bear cave but it was a Shaft! We think it was made to let water flow to the hydrolic monitors. It was awesome i am going back next weekend for sure with my digital camera. The only way to get down there is with 4 wheel drive. Its a HUGE area and i am gonna take my Jeep down there for sure next weekend. Heres the pics i took today with my camera phone

20 minutes up the road from my house. Its a huge 4wheel drive area. I've heard they film 75% of all the quad and dirtbike commericals back there cause its a nice area. You can also reach the Rubicon by driving up the mining roads from there as well.

I have been doing research and i found out that bridge was built before the 1930s and it collasped 10 years ago. That bridge area was a dam and the shaft in the side of the hill right there was a water shaft ditch that supplied water to the monitors for the hydrolic mining. I am gonna go back this coming sunday with my better camera and we're going to explore more and hopefully find some cool things. I found out from a friend that if i go more up the road i can find two more shafts that everyone walks through when you go offroading up there. Theres a lot more mining equipment as well.

OK i am going back in an hour or so. Taking the Jeep , it rained all day yesterday so the road might be incredibly muddy and slick. This might be an interesting trip. I'll bring back better pics

Its called Greenhorn, sometime in Jan or Feb there is a big 4x4 meet down there. Last year i saw 100 Jeeps driving towards Greenhorn and i heard everyone meets down there and then just runs the trails, rain, snow or whatever. Where we were wasn't Greenhorn but you can get to it by trails through Greenhorn.
