Well if I sell my car soon I'm debating on what my next car should be. Do you guys have any suggestions? I'm basically looking for anything around 3k that's reliable.
Right now these are my main choices for what I'm looking into purchasing: 1965-1970 Mustang Coupe (However when I find these cars they seem to be in really poor shape.)
1987-1993 Mustang Coupes or GT's (I've seen a couple of them however some are over priced and what not however they look good, just asking to much.)
1992-1995 Cadillac El Dorado's (I've found some decent ones that are reasonable and look good. They also come with a 4.6L v8 same as the Mach 1.) Anyways that's so far what I'm looking at getting into I'm not really concerned about gas, I'm more concerned about reliability and I've had Mustangs, Honda's, and one Toyota.
By far I've had pretty good experiences with Honda's and Mustangs, the last Toyota I had just kept giving me shit, nothing but problems and after I sold it a couple of months later they had a recall on it, it was a Tacoma btw.
Anyways what's your guys' suggestions, I can't get anything that looks like crap because of the neighborhood we live in and plus I don't want my rents bitching at me. I'm just trying to get something decent that I'll like that will get me from point A to point B with no problems. Like I said I don't care to to much with gas prices, I just need something that's clean title and is reliable and well looks good for about 3g's. Tell me what you think.

no question...get a 87-93 5.0. you'll love the obvious aftermarket but dont think of parking it anywhere or u may fall victim to thieves like alot here.

For 3k I would start looking for a Lincoln MarkVIII, those have the same motor as the Cobra, minus the cams, throttle body and exhaust.

87-93's are not daily drivers, you can't park them anywhere, they always get stolen, buy a Lincoln put some N02 and have some fun when need be, the MarkVIII's have tons of potential.

I've looked at the Lincon's the ones your talking about and personally I really don't like their style.

It's hella clean, has a V6 and the description says it's powerful!

My lincoln Mark VIII was tight. With just a shift kit on the stock peg legger it ran 14.3's. It was a comfy fun car. Its tough to find a clean one though

Lincoln's are owned by old people (usually clean and well cared for), you can find low mileage ones for under 3K all day long. [ April 29, 2006, 12:38 PM: Message edited by: 91Trunkster ]

If you get a foxbody and make it a daily diver, I'd avoid making it flashy. Keep it looking stock because there is probably a less chance of it getting jacked if it didnt look like it was modded. But still kind of risky in my opinion...
If you decide to get a lincoln, get a Mark VII. I saw a bad ass one on the freeway the other day. It was all black, black cobra R's, and he painted all the chrome trim black. That thing looked like a beast. His 3-gauge pillar pod added to the "fast" effect too I think it'd seriously be a fun daily driver if you're worried about reliability and getting stolen
