None of the stolen coupes are ever found being driven by someone and in tact. They just get stripped and dumped. And coupes don't have anything special about them in the motor/suspension to set em apart from a gt or lx. So if not stolen for the body then what?........... real weird. A LOT of stolen cars end up on Oakland and by not knowing anyone in the club it seems like a reasonable assumption that it could have been the case.
