I'm trying go away for the weekend with my girl, within driving distance, I've considered Monterey, Pismo Beach and Reno, still undecided, will need to keep busy with things to do for 2 days.

I loved Monterey, but will be cold as hell this time of year. I was going to recommend San Diego but you saud driving distance. The wife and I go to Caramel from time to time and its tight. Also Napa has some chill little under spots.

You could try Calistoga. They have all the hot springs places up there.

This is a good idea... we did this plus Napa is right there for some good wine tasting!

Monterey would be cool. Stay in a small inn and maybe hit up the aquarium. I've always wanted to do that. Tahoe would be cool too. Go snowboarding and sight see. Reno all you can do is gamble not much else to do.
