i took my mom's G35 there to mount 2 new front tires i got for her and those dumbasses wanted $119 . i said WTF, i've been here before this past summer to mount 20" wheels and paid $25 per wheel. i thought that was a lot, but damn $119 for two 18" wheels. i even spoke to the manager and he gave me some BS about rates going up. i cut his explanation short and told him thanks for your time and walked out. damn those greddy bastards.

America's tire in Fremont used to mount all mine for a 12 pack of beer. That guy must have been fired because now they charge me $25 a tire. Or maybe they don't like Guinness,...yet how can you not like Guinness? hahahah $119 is a f'n ripoff man.

Alot of places get pissed when you don't buy the tires from them, so they charge you out the ass for labor instead.

I just went to Americas tires here in Roseville to get my tires ballanced. They told me like $6 each. They did the job and then said dont worry about it, it was free.

I think it depends on each and individual shop.. I've been to some shops where they've been really cool and have thrown in some extra services for free, and then some other shops where they try to get you for every little thing possible.

I'm willing to bet it was because of the car you drove up in. I've always gone to the same place to mount tires for my Mustang and usually pay about $25ea. When I bought my Audi last year and took it in, the price went up to $75ea. After a little discussion and them typing my name into the computer, I ended up paying the old price.

the stupid thing is i've always used this place before w/o a problem. i've always talked to the same counter guy and only let one particular guy install my tires. the counter guy even said the manager can set whatever price he wants to, but when he came over he didn't even offer to give me a $1 discount. just this past year i used them about 4-5 times and now they've lost a customer. oh wells....

Go to a smaller tire shop i'm sure they will be happy to take your business. Big name companys have way more people coming in so they can pick and choose more of who they give rack time too.

America's tire's is shit. I took My brand new draglites in there and got some tires mounted on them and there was a nice scratch when I go to pick them up. I called for the manager and He said did You check them before You brought them in? I told Him yes so He went back inside and came out and said the guy who put them on was the assistant manager and there was no way He scratched them and was don lunch break for another 1 1/2 so I could'nt talk to Him till then Needless to say I won't be back.
