Originally posted by iceman302: [QB] This is the car that most people know as "PurpleNotch"... I still have the magazine with the feature on the car. I think Shaun still lurks around here. He built most of the car and it had an amazing system in it before he sold it. I bought the car from the guy that he sold it to. The car had stock suspension and brakes on it when I picked it up but the engine was as it is now. It also had '96 Cobra wheels on it. The car would head for the nearest ditch in the first three gears. The car was a little unkind to me. The passenger side head gasket blew after only having it three days. I replaced the gasket and the problem was traced to a faulty injector harness. I spent a ton of money doing a full Cobra disc brake upgrade all the way around and full Maximum Motorsports suspension - torque arm, adj. LCA's, panhard bar, etc. I also put a set of Bullitt wheels on the car. Unfortunately, the car continued its streak of ungratefulness, despite all the new toys I bought her. The damage had already been done and not long after the #3 piston let go. That was enough for me. I sold the car with the toasted engine to a guy in the Bay area. The car always looked exceptional and it only needed a few more things to really be complete mechanically. It really looks phenomenal now. My compliments to the current owner. I hope they see this and chime in. -Dave [/QB]
