So I traded in the 02 lightning, and the 03 harley truck.... and I picked up an 03 cobra. Some info behind it if ya care....
The 03 cobra was obtained by the dealership I'm assuming off a trade in. Upon inspection the engine had a decent scratch on the cylinder wall, so instead of chancing it, they dropped a brand new engine in. I decided it was time to eliminate some debt so I traded in both my trucks. Of course I took a shaft from trade in values, but I ended up getting the 03 for wholesale price and the perk of the new engine. I'm happy with the deal.

So you gave them both of your cars for an 03 Cobra straight across trade?

Not exactly. I had loans on both trucks so they got taken care of and I took on a single loan for the 03. It reduced my debt a lot, believe it or not.

Cool. I didn't know Ford tore the trade in motors down and looked at the cylinder walls.

They do not, UNLESS there is a problem with the vehicle suspected....

I was about to get that mineral gray one but it got swooped out from under me. the one I purchased was a silver one that never even got a chance to hit the sales floor. I was eyeing it since I saw it in service without any heads or supercharger on. Once the new engine was dropped in I was already talking numbers, even before its certification was finished. Haha, I wasn't gonna let this deal fall thru.

I was up there on Friday having my oil changed and happen to see it. A guy there also told me that they had one just like mine, and that they were about to put it for sale. How many miles on the body?

sounds like you got a pretty good deal considering that motor is new and carries a 2 year warranty. im sure ur glad to get rid of that extra car note..now just concentrate on what u have rather than taking on too many projects.

I have to resist the project cars. Time to pay off the debts and take on a bigger one.... a house. Is there ever a time when one is not in debt..... so life goes......
