I don't know what's going on lately, but it seems as though the 2V guys are blowing things up.....well at least from what I see lol I've got 3 2valves in the shop right now for full engine builds. A 2003, and 2 2001's

Yup.....all 3 are here for forged builds. all 3 for low compression boosted application. The one pictured above was a stock 2V with KB 2.1L, Longtubes, & 3.73's. Owner says it lasted 4yrs with alot of freeway racing. It let go during a run on the freeway actually.

Winter blend fuel this year is horrible. We are having to take an extra 3 degrees of ignition timing out compared to summer blend fuel from a few months ago.
Tuner buddies around the nation are seeing the same thing.
My advice to all is to mix in some race gas or Torco when running your boosted setups hard during the winter.

I am sure glad you posted that. I forgot about winter blend. I started using octane booster about 2 months ago because I thought I was hearing detonation sometimes (when I was out of octane booster I pulled 2 degrees that seemed to work).
I was going to rig up a detonation sensor from one of the busses at work. they work very well. with 2 sensors we can tell which cylinder and how bad they are detonating.
Question, why torco over other brands??

To be clear I am not an octane boost kind of guy. It is not a replacement for race gas, however in these kind of instances octane booster is a working solution. I have a can of Torco in my EcoBoost F150 for this exact reason.
As you know all octane boosters are not the same. The tuning community trust 2 brands. Torco and Dragon. I've only used Torco myself.
