So I been considering getting my tailpipes polished N was wondering if anyone knows how or has done it before? Is it hard? How long should it take? I wanna do this myself so I can pass up time on the weekdays after work.

if they are stainless(most of them are) you will need stainless steel polish. and plenty of time and elbow grease. [ April 06, 2012, 04:13 PM: Message edited by: cemelevu ]

I polished my steering shaft and started on my gas tank straps. I started off with 400,600,800,1,000,1,500, then finished it with 2,000 grit all wet sand paper. Then took some Mothers polish and went to town with a Micro-fiber.

It took me around 1.5-2 hours to do the steering shaft, this is what it looked like before I started.
This is after, keep in mind I took the pic under my kitchen light and it will look better in the sun. [ April 06, 2012, 04:34 PM: Message edited by: Greasy ]
