Shopping for a water softener and filtration system and don't know much about them....
Any of you have them? What do you have and how well does it work?
I'm thinking of getting a non salt type so I don't have to bypass the line for use on my plants.

it works good so your faucets/shower head doesnt get clogged up but in my opinion it feels like it leaves a residue on your skin

I have the GE 1" filter, that works well. I have a Kenmore softener from '94 I'm not sure if it works very well, but it must work alittle. [ June 07, 2007, 12:37 AM: Message edited by: BlueBeast88.306 ]

what do you have problems with
silt, minerals, chemicals, bacteria, etc, that will determine the type of system needed
city or well water?
you could filter only the water going into your house and not get the outside water, this usually works best so the filter doesnt need to be cleaned as often
if you have a problem with rusty water, deal with it you would have to sell your 93 cobra to afford one of those systems
if you decide on something let me know and i might be able to recommend or get a better price on it

The problem is hard ass city water. It stains everything and makes it difficult to wash my whites.
Now are you guys talking about the salted one that leave residue?
