But, I suppose if I do get tricked, Ill be at the courthouse saying my "I DO".
if your at a courthouse, it wont be to exchange vows...lol
dont forget the prenuptial if your both up to it....its pretty hard to slide this one in there, and for the already married, there is post-nuptials if you feel the marriage is going bad and want to CYA, if she agrees...

I think we paid 20k 7 years ago, it was a great time but its over quick. If I was paying for all of it, there is no way in hell that would have happened. My boy just had a wedding and him and his lady paid to get a wedding coordinator. He said it saved him a shit ton of money because it came with a package of a DJ and Photographer etc.. He said she knew exactly where the deals were, and it was the best money ever spent. BTW congrats on getting married.

I got married in 07, and don't think we spent 5k total. And we paid for it ourselves. Its what happens when you string her along for 13 years.

No joke. Most popular, most successful, and most loved. The bridal party goes around to each table to take pictures/video/shots while the best man holds this money box that gets stuffed with thick envelops of cash. I did this twice and both times it felt like I was carrying a 24 pack of bottled water.

No offence but unless you just have the cash lying around I wouldn't do it. no way No how ! Don't see the point to start a life together and be in debt 35+K , it's starting your life in the red when that can be used for a nice down payment on a house... Just like others said 50% of marriage end in Devorce and youll be paying alamony on top of the $35+K you'll be spending , and for the brides to be who want these one day money pits will want more when the memory of there day fades away . So Run now !!! Jk congrats on you life of misery

Jon...in my opinion, its a once in a lifetime thing and you should do it...but dont do it if your already assuming you're going to get divorced (which you shouldnt even be thinking about if your talking about weddings!)I'm not saying to go out and spend $35k, but I'm sure you can find a place that can set you up with a package deal. A lot of people are against weddings, but maybe its because they're already divorced or have had bad relationships. To me, weddings are a normal thing people do when they're at a certain point in life when they feel committed and in love. I dont mean to sound all sappy and shit, but I say do it!

unless you convince the soon to be wife to get married somewhere away from home, and only invite the important people, save some cash all my older cousins that've gotten married have spent within 25-50k on their weddings, and one of them who got married in puerto vallarta spent less then 10k
